Salvation Army to run free breakfast club in Kirkwall

The Salvation Army is to offer a free, family breakfast club within its Junction Road premises, in Kirkwall, over nine mornings next month.

The initiative, which has been set up in partnership with Tesco, will run from 9am to 10.30am on August 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16.

Kate Brown, family and community development worker, with the Salvation Army in Kirkwall, said: “We are inviting children and families in our community to begin their day together with a healthy meal. It’s a family club because, where possible, it’s important for family to eat together, whether your kids are 18 months or 18 years old.

“Please note, children under ten must be accompanied by an adult. It’s good to connect at the start of the day and spend some time with each other, but more than just some excellent free food (thanks Tesco) and family/carer time, we aim to bring our community together.”
