Road work update for next week

Orkney Islands Council is planning to carry out surface dressing and road marking operations next week.

Weather permitting, the surface dressing work will take place on a section of the Kirkwall to Stromness road between Quanterness and Rennibister, and on the Kirkwall to Orphir road in the Hobbister area.

White lining work is due to take place on the Kirkwall to Stromness road between the golf course and Grainshore Road, as well as on the old Finstown road.

Temporary road closures, diversions, traffic control measures and temporary speed limits will be needed at times while the work is carried out.
