Revised NorthLink timetable in January

NorthLink Ferries will operate an amended service on its Aberdeen to Kirkwall and Lerwick route during January 2017 due to the Hjaltland entering a scheduled drydock period.

The Hrossey will operate a single vessel revised timetable on the route from Sunday, January 8, with the Hjaltland expected to return to service on Friday, January 27.

The scheduled drydock period will allow the Hjaltland to undergo routine maintenance and necessary repair work.

Peter Hutchinson, customer service director at NorthLink Ferries, said: “The revised timetable serviced by MV Hrossey will allow passengers to travel to and from Orkney, Shetland and the mainland on a regular basis whilst MV Hjaltland is in drydock.

“Operating from the beginning of January, the timetable will offer sailings every other day with no sailing scheduled on a Saturday.

“The scheduled maintenance of the passenger vessel ensures that routine checks of the ship can be carried out.”
