Police appeals for information

Police in Orkney are appealing for information, after a number of items were stolen and signs were vandalised at a popular walking spot in the county, earlier this month and in May.

Firstly, the police are seeking information after path signs were ripped from the ground and pulled apart within Olav’s wood, in South Ronaldsay. Police think the damage was done between 4pm on Thursday, June 8 and 11am the next morning.

Police are also looking to hear from anyone who might know anything about a missing Nokia smartphone, which has gone missing from the Cats Protection charity shop, in Stromness. The blue coloured phone has been missing since Friday, June 9.

Finally, police are appealing for witnesses after a Lenovo ThinkPad computer and a flare were reported as stolen from the Hoy Centre, in Hoy. According to police, the theft is thought to have occurred on May 12, between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
