Police appeal for information following dangerous driving, vandalism and theft

Police in Kirkwall are appealing for information regarding three separate incidents, which took place within the last two weeks.

Firstly, police would like to speak to anyone who saw a case of poor driving in Finstown on Saturday. An incident took place on the Kirkwall to Stromness Road, near Binscarth, on the Stromness side of the town, just after 4.35pm.

According to police, a car travelling towards Stromness had to take evasive action, to avoid colliding with a 4×4, which overtook a campervan coming in the opposite direction.

Police are also appealing for witnesses after a car was vandalised while parked on Warrenfield Crescent, in Kirkwall, between 10.30pm on Saturday and 9.30am the following morning.

Finally, between Sunday, May 14 and the following Thursday, the braking system was removed from a bicycle which had been left secured outside an address on Laing Street, Kirkwall. Police have said this would have taken some time to accomplish.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kirkwall Police Station by phoning 101 and asking to be put through to Kirkwall.
