Police advise drivers to take care in the snow

Following the recent weather, police in Kirkwall have advised drivers to take care on the roads.

A spokesperson from Kirkwall Police Station has confirmed that Orkney Islands Council (OIC) gritters have been out this morning.

“All roads are clear and passable for the moment,” they said.

“Caution, however, should still be taken when driving in snowy conditions. Slow right down if needs be.”
