NorthLink Ferries recently picked up an award for having the most appealing stand, at a major international travel trade event.

The VisitScotland Expo 2017 was attended by a contingent of Orcadian and North Isles businesses on Wednesday and Thursday last week.

The expo — which was held at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow — was also attended by Orkney Tourism Group, which represents over 400 tourism businesses in the area, as well as representatives from the Albert Hotel, Ferry Inn and The Shore.

Orkney Craft Association also launched its new craft trail brochure at the event and Orkney Food and Drink were there to offer samples of local produce to delegates.

The Orkney contingent formed part of a larger Northern Isles group, which included NorthLink Ferries, Pentland Ferries and Sharing Shetland.

Commenting on the company’s award win, Peter Hutchinson, Customer Service Director for NorthLink Ferries, said they are delighted to receive the award.

He said: “It is down to a big effort by the team which was headed by our Group Tours Manager, Joyce Nuir. We also had Orkney Food and Drink and Shetland Food and Drink with us and they were a big boost for the stand.”
