is on for Cameron's perfect partner
(Story dated June 12, 2003)
Channel 4s Big Brothers Little Brother launched the appeal on Sundays show, asking for interested girls to send in a photos of themselves and reasons why they should be picked. The programme makers revealed that they have been getting a fair few offers from women. They refused to detail just how many as yet, but said they would be having regular updates on the show. It was in a conversation with fellow housemate Steph that Cameron revealed his lack of female company. I definitely would like one. When I was 18 I was desperate to get married and have a family. I am a bit scared of something serious but how ridiculous is that at 32? he said. Younger brother Julyan Sinclair said Channel 4 had asked that he and his mum Doris Stout go down for the launch of the appeal. We were unable to go, he said. Cameron is the consummate gentleman, there is nobody left like him. It would be interesting if The Orcadian ran a competition for it . . . While Cameron is still making the grade in the Big Brother house, it seems he was also a bit of a swot at school. Its official, he was a strictly an A-pass student, according to the head teacher at Stromness Academy, David Sillar. All the way up through the school, he was one of the more mature members of his school group. He was also one of the brightest. Mr Sillar admitted the 32-year-old was a bit of a swot, who worked hard during lessons, and got on well with other pupils. Meanwhile, its been a busy week in the house for Cameron. WEDNESDAY Cameron and Gos are in the garden. I dont think I could live like this for a year, Cameron ponders, while worrying about last weeks nominations. I am dreading them reading out the names today. The Orcadian is in charge of instructing the others how to put up the tent in the garden as part of last weeks task. He takes it very seriously and does a sterling job. THURSDAY Last Thursdays viewing concentrates on the task. Cameron, Jon and Justine are randomly selected to pitch the tent neatly and in the correct order. After almost an hour and a half, they successfully complete the challenge. Five others have to complete five Cub Scout knots, which they achieve and the remaining three have to answer questions on the Cub Scout movement. Federico, who lost the group the first weeks task, managed to answer his question incorrectly. He was asked to recite the Cub Scout law and muddles it with the promise. The group are not happy. FRIDAY Its bye bye, Justine, as the public vote to evict her and keep Jon in the house. Despite Camerons nomination of Jon, he also gives him a large hug and a pat on the back. After she leaves the house, Justine is full of praise for Cameron, describing him as a true gentleman, reinforcing his nice-guy while some of the other housemates come in for a few harsh words. SATURDAY For tonights challenge, the group have to play pass the parcel, answering individual questions as each layer comes off. In Scrabble what is the face value of the letter X? Cameron answers correctly - eight. He is joined by Nush, Gos, Jon, Scott, Tania and Federico in the Big Brother secret room. They are given beer, snacks and computer games to play. SUNDAY Psychologists are brought in to look back on the weekends events and to see how the housemates are coping and there is clear evidence of a boy-girl split in the house. MONDAY The housemates agree to gamble 65 per cent of their weekly shopping budget on this weeks task. The group will have to memorise a bell ringing sequence of 95 notes. Jon nominates Cameron as the official conductor of the group because of his musical background, but Camerons not too keen. I am just saying that we have to learn the rhythm, Cameron points out to certain members who want to memorise the sequence of numbers only. The Orkney man is looking a bit subdued by it all and his Bible is never too far away at the moment. TUESDAY Cameron escapes a third nomination. He plumps for Jon and Federico, while he is nominated by Federico and Ray. One housemate, who seems to have the knives out for Cameron is Tanya. Not only did she nominate Cameron last time round, this week, she accused him of being a peeping Tom! All the fish trader was doing was trying to find out who wanted porridge for breakfast. Perhaps he should have knocked on the door more loudly. With Sissy the favourite to be evicted this week, it would leave only three of the girls in the house, compared to all six of the original boys who entered the Big Brother House. |
