Cruise ship season set to begin on Sunday

The Astoria is now set to arrive on Sunday.

The visiting cruise liner season for 2017, which had been scheduled to get underway on Tuesday with the arrival of the first ship of the season, has now been postponed due to the weather forecast.

The Cruise and Maritime Voyages vessel Astoria, with the passenger capacity of 580, had originally been due to arrive alongside Hatston Pier for the day tomorrow, Tuesday, April 4. However the itinerary for the voyage has now been changed.

This means that the vessel is now due to arrive in Kirkwall on Sunday according to OIC Marine Services.

Further information on the season ahead will be published by The Orcadian, with updates and information also on the following websites:  www.orkneyharbours.com and www.cruise-orkney.com
