Council appoints new head of executive support

Orkney Islands Council has appointed Karen Greaves as its head of executive support.

Ms Greaves joined the council’s social work department in 2002 and has since carried out a variety of roles in the development and infrastructure, education leisure and housing and chief executive’s services.

She has served as head of executive support on an interim basis over the past six months.

The teams she now heads support community councils, elected members and OIC’s decision-making process, provide a first point of contact for the public, keep people informed about the council, and have responsibility for the administration of elections.
