The local Master Chef competition takes place tonight in the Orkney Arts Theatre.

Four chefs will be putting their culinary skills to the test this year — they are Caroline Critchlow, Erica Clarkson, Kerry Leask and Firdosh Shaikh.

Each amateur chef will have to prepare a three-course meal, using the very best Orkney produce, in front of a live audience. A panel of expert judges will then decide who should claim the coveted Orkney Amateur Master Chef title.

Members of the audience will also get the chance to play their part, with some selected to sample the delicious dishes put together by the contestants.

The even, which is organised by Orkney Food & Drink, will be hosted by BBC Radio Orkney’s Dave Gray and Robbie Fraser. Last year’s inaugural competition winner, Roddy Belford, will be serving as one of the judges this year.

The event will commence at 7.30pm.
