Town centre housing development open to visitors

The doors to Orkney Housing Association’s latest Kirkwall development are open to the public this morning, Saturday.

The £413,000 project saw the creation of three shared-ownership flats in Dunnett’s Close, in the centre of Kirkwall.

According to OHAL, the flats have been constructed from a closed timber panel system, into which insulation foam is injected, giving superior insulation and air-tightness compared to a standard timber kit. In addition, the timber separating floors will “give acoustic performance well in excess of that required by current building regulations”.

The properties at 1-3 Dunnett’s Close will be open for folk to look around from 10.30am until 1pm.
