Homecoming gig for Orkney bass player

Orcadian bass player Marcus Cordock has brought his Glasgow band, Little Eye, to Orkney today, as part of a Scottish tour, in the run-up to their appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival in June.

They will be joined by support band, Atom Tree, also from Glasgow, for a date at Fusion tonight, along with Orkney band Constant Party.

Under the wing of managers, Malcolm Blair and Alesha Dixon, they released their debut album, Fighting the Future, last year, and opened the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival, only to be invited back for a later slot this year.

The tour will take them to Strathclyde, Kirkintilloch, Edinburgh, Dundee, Sweden, Aberdeen, and home sweet home for Marcus, to Orkney.

“I’m excited to play in Orkney with the boys,” Marcus, who hails from Burray, said.

“We have a lot of fun on and off stage, and don’t take ourselves too seriously, as I’m sure anyone who has watched our tour diary on Youtube will see, so we don’t really get nervous.

“But none of the boys have been to Orkney before, and apparently I’m always going on about how amazing it is! So I’m just hoping that everybody comes out to support us, makes a right good night of it, and make the boys feel at home!

“But mind on, they’re from the city, so try not to break them . . .”

Friday’s gig will be followed by a CD launch on Saturday in Grooves, with a live acoustic set from the lads.
