The arrival of the cruise ship Boudica this morning marks the beginning of a busy summer season for visiting liners.

Although there have already been five visits earlier in the year by ships in March and early April – with itineraries primarily related to the eclipse – May is set to see 22 port calls, including the largest ship of the season the Royal Princess with potentially 3500 passengers on board that ship alone.

Next month sees 15 port calls with the arrival for the first time of Aida ships. There will be 28 calls in July with the return of the Queen Elizabeth, and the first time visitor Disney Magic.

11 calls in August, three in September, and one in October, will deliver 83 visits for the record setting season.
