Orkney RFC’s First XV recorded a narrow 8-3 win over old rivals Caithness on Saturday, to stay top of the BT Caledonia League Division One table.

A James Linklater  penalty and a second half try from Danny Bain was enough to give the away side the victory, in testing conditions.

The win moves Orkney on to 48 points, two ahead of nearest rivals Glenrothes.

Orkney’s next scheduled match is away to Strathmore on Saturday, January 31.
