By-election count under way

The count to find out who will be the new councillor for the Kirkwall West and Orphir ward is under way in the council chamber this morning, with the result expected later this morning.

The vacanct seat came about following the resignation of Jack Moodie in September.

Sadly, one of the four original candidates, Laurence Leonard, passed away recently.

The three candidates for the post are Leslie Manson, Lorraine McBrearty and Gillian Skuse.
