Kirkwall RNLI standing by fishing vessel

Kirkwall Lifeboat is standing by a Westray based creel boat tonight, which is aground near Seal Skerry, off Eday.

The lifeboat crew were called to the scene shortly after 4pm, and it is hoped that the fishing boat New Venture can be floated off at high tide, around midnight.

The three-man crew of the fishing vessel were taken onboard the lifeboat as they await the rising tide.
