Picky Pool closed to rectify leaking oil pipe

A leak in an oil pipe has been identified at the Pickaquoy Centre.

According to the OIC, the fault has been isolated and is the most probable source of the diesel odours detected by users of the pool over recent days.

Excavation works to enable environmental sampling, in conjunction with Scottish Water, to confirm this as the source of the odours are now under way, and remediation work has started.

As part of this, the pool and health suite at the Picky Centre will be closed today, Wednesday), from noon, until 1pm tomorrow.
