Berstane Road clear say police

Police have advised that Berstane Road in Kirkwall is now clear following an incident this afternoon

Although details have yet to be released, it is believed a member of the public sustained a minor injury.

Earlier, numerous emergency vehicles attended the scene and police asked drivers to take alternative routes.

Football league structure change agreed

Orkney’s top flight football league will soon be increased to a ten-team division.

Members at last night’s Orkney Amateur Football Association AGM unanimously agreed that relegation should be scrapped in the upcoming 2012 season, with two teams promoted from the ‘B’ League.
