Social housing on the way for Papay?
The current lack of social housing on Papa Westray could be improved if councillors recommendations are approved.
Members of the OIC’s development and regeneration committee have backed offering the Papay Development Trust up to half the £60,000 costs of refurbishing Morven House.
The property, which has been used successfully in past as temporary and gateway housing, is vacant at present and in poor repair.
Convener Councillor Stephen Hagan said this could be a solution to the lack of social housing on the island.
